Continuation Lyrics
How could the killer keep killing now that the killer's dead?
The killer's way was known to no one
And the telltale clues are locked
Inside the detective's head
He's been dead for days, still killing us anyway
There is me and Rieger and Thomson and Foley only
And Thomson and Foley
Just don't fit the profile
Got a break in the case
And soon I'm gonna make him
I'll wait until he kills again
Then I'mma come down
How could the killer keep killing now that the killer's dead?
So Detective Rieger stands alone as the suspect killer
He was a good cop
But always a little off
Got a break in the case
And soon I'm gonna make him
I'll wait until he kills again
Then I'mma come down
So I shadowed Rieger until he became a part of me
After weeks of pursuit, we locked up in a feedback loop
He was...
He was following me too
The killer's way was known to no one
And the telltale clues are locked
Inside the detective's head
There is me and Rieger and Thomson and Foley only
And Thomson and Foley
Just don't fit the profile
And soon I'm gonna make him
I'll wait until he kills again
Then I'mma come down
So Detective Rieger stands alone as the suspect killer
He was a good cop
But always a little off
And soon I'm gonna make him
I'll wait until he kills again
Then I'mma come down
After weeks of pursuit, we locked up in a feedback loop
He was...
He was following me too

How has no one commented on this this is probably the most original song ever! I was hoping there'd be hundreds of replies, this song is fascinating and chilling
yea i agree, i love his voice its awesome, especially in this track "thomson and foley only"
There seems to be a lack of love for Mr. Vanderslice on this website. He is a genius and one of the purest song writers making music.
I think this song follows a rather old cliche but still awesome...THE KILLER IS ME!
If it sounds a little "cliche", it's because it's based off a movie. This is a snip from an interview JV did with BetterPropaganda :
"I wrote "Continuation" right after seeing Lars Von Trier's Element of Crime. It's his first feature, and it concerns a detective trying to piece together an unsolved series of murders. A hunted serial killer dies in a car crash, and his specific ways of killing are only known to the detectives on the case. So when more bodies turn up with those telltale signs of the deceased serial killer, the only suspects are other detectives who know the clues."
