Smokestack Lightning (Howlin' Wolf cover) Lyrics
Smokestack lightning
Shine a light home
Smokestack lightning
Shining like gold
Treats me like a clown
Wheels go driving slow
Trucks me out of town
Wheels go driving slow
Tell me baby
So when you coming home
Tell me baby
When you coming home
Wheels go driving slow
Wheels go driving slow
Wheels go driving slow
Shine a light home
Smokestack lightning
Shining like gold
Treats me like a clown
Wheels go driving slow
Trucks me out of town
Wheels go driving slow
Tell me baby
So when you coming home
Tell me baby
When you coming home
Wheels go driving slow
Wheels go driving slow
Wheels go driving slow

Is the part where he sings "wheels go driving slow" the highest notes Cornell has ever reached recorded? 'Cos its freaking high...
He also hits very high notes in Slaves and bulldozers, New damage, and Power Trip (Especially).
Good cover of Howlin' Wolf's classic. This is how good bands do covers - they make them their own. Soundgarden took this and injected it with some hard rock flavor, and Chris' vocals put it over the top.
His highest note in this song does come close, but I'm pretty sure the highest note CC ever hit was the last shriek of the word "poor" on Jesus Christ Pose. To my knowledge, he never hit that note during live performances of that song.
Love Sonic Youth's Death Valley '69 at the end. It sounds recorded off of a record player, with skips and static and everything, like one of the band members listened to it so much, it got worn and old. I love Sonic youth's early stuff before they got famous, it was very crude, kinda how i like Soundgarden's early stuff.
And sampling a song from the early scenes of art rock on a song that is a cover of a song from the early scenes of blues/rock is strange. The two genres come from very different places.
