Missing You Lyrics
Some miserable day, back in November
Newcastle is grey, as grey as the river
But your eyes are bright with life
And life is bright with you
I'm missing you
You're laughing again, I'm so glad that she met you
As you start to explain something, I'm proud of you
But I forget all that, relax
And just enjoy the fact that life is good
I'm missing you
So I'm trying to pretend you're out in the garden
That you're about to walk in
To wash your hands in the kitchen
But she said your face changed
And your breath got slower and slower
Until there was breath no more
Newcastle is grey, as grey as the river
But your eyes are bright with life
And life is bright with you
As you start to explain something, I'm proud of you
But I forget all that, relax
And just enjoy the fact that life is good
That you're about to walk in
To wash your hands in the kitchen
But she said your face changed
And your breath got slower and slower
Until there was breath no more

Pretty clear message here - it's in the title.
Pretty clear, do you say?? I really don't understand the meaning of the final words: "But she said your face changed And your breath got slower and slower Until there was breath no more". Is it clear to you?
Death. Missed. Eh?
One of their more beautiful songs anyway.
I love this song, it's a really underrated one by Franz Ferdinand. I think it kind of explains itself though. To me it's about someone who's missing a loved one (who's died?), and reflecting on the time they had together. Forgive me if I'm wrong, thats just always how I've interpreted it.
I think its about someone who has died (due to the last couple of lines) and a friend/relative of that person is remembering him/her. I think its a very underated song, this should well be on one of their albums and perhaps be released as a single.

He's remembering of a person, he tries to imagine what he/she would be doing ("So I'm trying to pretend you're out in the garden") but at the end he realises it's just a ghost, and sees him/her slowly vanishing in front of him. It seems like it was someone who enjoyed life but died too soon. A beautiful song underated, as Love&Destroy
i've just found this on CNN: Alex: The ones I feel the most personal about? I don't know, maybe it's a song we don't play very often- a song called "Missing You" , in fact we've never played it live. It was only a b-side, but it's probably the most personal song for me. Because it's about somebody I really miss.
I used to sing this song so many times. It's sadly beautiful.
The sound of this one's so different from all their other songs. It is really beautiful though.
