I fell the things I said but never said how I felt
I know I waited much too long
Could I get it in your head
Without a hit below the belt
Looking back it seems that I went about it all wrong
Chorus:
Lying alone in the bed we made
Watching headlights on the shade
The ghost that's sleeping by your side
Are my promises to you that died
Was it long ago when forever was our friend
But now freedom's what I feel inside
It hurts so much to let you go
To know we'll never touch again
When I walk if I fall down
Can I take it in stride?
(repeat chorus)
I might let you go but I'll never go away
(repeat chorus)
I know I waited much too long
Could I get it in your head
Without a hit below the belt
Looking back it seems that I went about it all wrong
Chorus:
Lying alone in the bed we made
Watching headlights on the shade
The ghost that's sleeping by your side
Are my promises to you that died
Was it long ago when forever was our friend
But now freedom's what I feel inside
It hurts so much to let you go
To know we'll never touch again
When I walk if I fall down
Can I take it in stride?
(repeat chorus)
I might let you go but I'll never go away
(repeat chorus)

Sounds like a song about breaking up and such. Don't know if there actually is a connection, but listen to the lyrics to the song 'Forever' and then put it with the 'forever was our friend' and the whole subject matter of the song. Sounds like a bitter closing to that story..
Skid Row without Baz is just not Skid Row. But this song is really nice, and I can relate to it completelly. I even have to admit that Solinger's voice probably fits better that Bazes to this one. But ONLY to this one!;)
