Sam Malone Lyrics
And you can try to fight this all you want
But I wont be there when you’re all alone
And this new season brings with it signs of hope
You can leave me waiting by the phone
And I know there is
some place I can go
Where, where no one knows my name
And I still remember the sound of your voice
All though your silence still rings so clear
Do you think that I would call just to hear you breathe?
You always knew that just one word would dry up all my tears
And I know there is,
some place I can go
where, where no one knows my name
No one knows my name
But I wont be there when you’re all alone
And this new season brings with it signs of hope
You can leave me waiting by the phone
some place I can go
Where, where no one knows my name
All though your silence still rings so clear
Do you think that I would call just to hear you breathe?
You always knew that just one word would dry up all my tears
some place I can go
where, where no one knows my name
No one knows my name

how has no one commented on this song?
the line: "Do you think that I would call just to hear you breathe?" is one of my all time favorites.
"Where no one knows your name" by Alexisonfire... anyone?
haha, "Cheers" anyone?
City and Colour is Dallas Green of Alexisonfire's solo project. so i guess he just built this song off of the alexisonfire one. yeah, its a beautiful song though
dallas wrote sam malone first, then alexisonfire wrote the song where no one knows which dallas contributed lyrics to

Forgive me for being thick, but does that line "Do you think that I would call just to hear you breathe?" just mean that when he called her, she just didn't speak? If so why?
yea i was reading somewhere that the bartender from cheers name was sam malone so its def a cheers refrence. i remmber talking to a friend and we were descusing the fact that it could be a play on words (sam malone-say im alone).
I think it sounds more like Cause I'm Alone.. but, still just guesses. there is probably something to it, since Alexisonfire also played a lot on words, for example "Counterparts and Number Them" sounds like "Count Her Parts and Number Them"...

This is deffinitly a "Cheers" refference song.
And I know there is some place I can go Where, where no one knows my name
the theme for "Cheers" is
Dont you wish you could have somewhere to go where everyone knows your name
and Sam Malone is the Bar tender for this bar, and as for mr.2nd coming's "play on words" , Good job :) i had never noticed it before, but its quite clever.
thanks lol i beileve so as well if u listen to him say it on live he "kindof" says it so thats why we thought that
well in reference to the play on words, it could possibly be an adaption of australian rhyming slang, where some who is said to be on their "pat malone" is someone who is alone
just another possibility?
