Dinner Lady Arms Lyrics
We had a good thing, it was a blast
That was a long time in the past
You went through changes & I walked away
And I have regretted that to this day
I may not always have quite so much hair
But what you saw in me will hopefully always be there
And I'll never hurt you again, I swear.
So put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
I couldn't figure out where your figure had gone
I thought that I could live without you honey, I was so wrong
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
Dinner lady arms
Forgive and forget I caused you pain
And find it in your heart to start again, ooooh
Now I may not ever be your “Mr Right”
But I'm happy to be your “Mr that will do for tonight”
I'll never let you out of my sight.
So put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
I couldn't figure out where you'd figure I'd go
Thought that I could live without you baby I was so wrong
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
I couldn't figure out where your figure had gone
I thought that I could live without you hon, I was so wrong
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
Hurrr...
I may be light years passed by my sell by date
But I say there's life in the old dog yet honey
It's not too late
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
That was a long time in the past
You went through changes & I walked away
And I have regretted that to this day
But what you saw in me will hopefully always be there
And I'll never hurt you again, I swear.
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
I thought that I could live without you honey, I was so wrong
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
And find it in your heart to start again, ooooh
Now I may not ever be your “Mr Right”
But I'm happy to be your “Mr that will do for tonight”
I'll never let you out of my sight.
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
Thought that I could live without you baby I was so wrong
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
I thought that I could live without you hon, I was so wrong
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms
But I say there's life in the old dog yet honey
It's not too late
Put your arrrrrms around me, your dinner lady arms

"I couldn't figure out where your figure had gone" this song is just too funny and it sounds so good.
hm. i wasnt really too sure about this. i think its basically leaving and moving on and thinking about the past in this. also a lot of dietry issues come up in the song as well.
I think it's about a fat girl.
hmm, i don't really get the meaning of this one. can any one assist me in my lacking of knowledge.. of the song? (i understand the general meaning..not COMPLETELY stupid)
but dinner lady arms.. is he talking about tuckshop ladies arms????
It's about a guy who leaves a girl because she gets fat (hence dinner lady arms), realises he loves her so much it doesn't matter to him, and returns to her requesting her to put her dinner lady arms around him.
i love the darkness :]] gr8 song.
to add on to what people said about this song earlier:
"I couldn't figure out where your figure had gone"
you dicks, is this a piss take forum???
Well, it could be about a fat girl, but it also could be about a girl that he went out to dinner with on the first date, and then they had a fight during the dinner, and she dumped him right there. Then, several years later they met again...
Hm... a good subject for a novel that would make. (Note to self ;)
It
s about a couple of young lovers. She matured/changed and he couldnt handle/deal with it so he ended it in some way. Then we skip to the future....
He`s lost his hair, having matured, and hopes she still feels something.
"Forgive and forget I caused you pain And find it in your heart to start again, ooooh"
Speakes for itself. As does the rest of the tune really.
Except,
Dinner lady Arms.It is not a reference to her getting fat. When i was in school back in the 80`s. If you ever fell over or hurt yourself in the playground, it was always a dinner lady who tended to your bumps and bruises. A reference to comfort, Maybe?
