Baby Body Lyrics

Liz hates her body, her baby body
She thinks that everybody's looking at
the way her figure's changed
But she's on this bus, it always moves so
slow
Regrets her haircut, a career-ruining
haircut
She should have got t cut by her student
friend, he's asked her to dor weeks
But she hates that public transport moves
so slow

You wanted everything to change but you
could only change your name
You've got to rise above it now, you're
more inmortant than the game
Than the game, more impotnant than the
game

Gazes in awe on those stupid morons
Who buy those magazines to paper tydor
mirror of their homes
But show wonders how many people buy
them for the summer factor
SHes's making pictures, collaging pictures
A microsxoping version of the way they're
crowding in their mind
But this bus wastes roughly on-twelfth
of her day

You wanted everything to change but you
could only change your clothes
Standing in the supermarket aisle you
know these fuckers never close
They were never close, these fuckers never close

You wanted everything to change but you
could only change your name

i think this song really captures what it feels like to be in a rut.

the kind of... dull gray rut that comes with dissatisfaction with the way you look.

i guess the moral is that although you can want to change everything, when you make external changes youre still not happy. when you try and alter who you are, it's still not going to bring you happiness. you may end up just feeling fake.

anyway, i can relate to this song alot. i think it's excellent. =)

It's basically about hating the way you look...and wishing to be something you see on the magazines

this song is so suprising b/c he really gets how being a girl feels sometimes. like how she feels everything would change & her life would be better if she had better hair, clothes, body etc but it still won't. But being a girl, a small part of her will always feel like looks are part of the answer even though she knows better. and "the game" is this whole cycle of looks & superficialness & playing dumb that girls have to go through.

i also think he is trying to make a point when he says that she hates her body, she feels like everyone is staring etc. you get the idea she might be overweight. But then him referring to her as having a "baby body" in his eyes the whole time shows she really just has a nice average body, maybe even a really petite one. She is imagining her body far much worse than it is, when it looks good to everyone else.

I think it's about a pregnant girl who wishes she could change things about her life. I think "Liz" is just plain frustrated with the hardships that life has thrown at her.
