Okay just here me out. I could be wrong but this is what I got out of it:

The sun a metaphor for a possible relationship. He wants to go out with the girl however at the same time the girl warns that it doesn't sound like a good idea. Chris is screaming what are you waiting for? Hurry up cause this time will pass. Don't wait!

"Lay your armor down." -Trust me. There is no need for you to wear your armor.

It is a great summer song. I have very high expectations for their new album.

Nobody has ever heard it before because its brand new off their new album. A sneak peek at how awesome their next cd will be! They just released it recently with that whole 50000 people to download it deal. Heres what i think about the song.

The possibility of Chris and the girl dating. They are in the midst of breaking up. Even if his eyes are closed, he knows the breakup is still happening and its all real. He hears her warnings, her telling him they can't be, but they both know Chris will always try to be back with her.

"Don't wait, don't wait, the road is now a sudden sea and suddenly you're deep enough to lay your armour down. To lay your armour down."

The road that they were on together has come to a sudden end - a sudden sea. Their future has come crashing down. She's deep enough to lay her armour down I think is her saying they've come to a point where she doesn't think they can go on, but she still trusts him with her life. She knows whatever happens between them she'll always be able to go to him.

"Well you get one look, I'll show you something that the night took. A bit too early for my own good, now lets not speak of it again"

This part is explaining how Chris will have one shot to get back together with the girl, and by showing her something that the night took he will reminisce with her about past times together and what that dreadful night took away from them both. What he doesnt know is that he is trying again too soon, and asks her to forget what he is saying because she is not ready for it again.

"Don't wait, don't wait, the lights will flash and fade away, the days will pass you by, don't wait, to lay your armour down"

Don't wait any longer! The time will come when things should work out and then pass quickly, so don't wait and let the opportunity pass you by. The days will pass when they're apart, so don't wait to cash in all your chips and give it another shot.

NOW! i could be completely wrong, but it seems to click in my head. I love dashboard, they bring out so much happiness in me just listening to them. Can't wait til they are in Winnipeg July 4th!

This song is so great. It tells you not to wait for anyone else and to keep going in your life. It was so good on One Tree Hill, because all the characters needed to find their own lives and not wait or anyone

Yeah, there's probably no one still reading this thread, but here's my take.

It's about a guy and a girl who are intensely attracted to one another, but they know they'll soon have to go their separate ways. Should they get together, open up to each other, and have an amazing but brief relationship? And then suffer the heartbreak, longing to be together after they're apart?

The girl is afraid to open up, probably due to being hurt in past relationships. The guy offers to share with her how he's been hurt in the past, but he doesn't want to talk about it long because it still hurts too much.

It's a lonely world out there. When you feel that incredible but rare connection, don't wait.

Perfect opening song for a CD about a summer romance.

I saw it on LSI and then here. I haven't been able to find it through iTunes, Napster, MP3.com, or Ares. It seems very...different. I am wondering how it sounds, though. Dashboard has like three different sounds and I am wondering if it is full band, acoustic, or accompanied by a piano in So Long, So Long fashion.

But yeah, it would be nice to know where to get the song.

i heard the live version of this song and all fans who were worried about dashboard going downhill, from the sound of this track we have nothing to worry about it. still full of emotion, ive lost the link to where to listen but it was something along the lines of www.bumrecords.com/tracks. or somehting like that. it also had a brilliant version of remember to breathe and hands down that make the hairs on your neck stand up.

Even as a mad Dashboard fan i havnt heard this song! In England it is much harderto get hold of their music but i try my best. The lyrics to this song are really nice - it reminds me of summer nights. Dc rock!
