Like all of the other songs, this one has amazing lyrics. I like the alarm. It's just saying she set her self up, but she's mad at others. For some reason I think this has something to do with the line in "Old Hat" that goes something like, "I'm so happy, how can you write about that?"

I like the idea of how it's hard to describe happiness, you try to write it down on paper, but it doesn't show up because it's white on white. It's indescribable.
It's cliche to say, but this song really fits my current relationship from "curse the alarm you set" to "amazed you still have skin."
I'm surprised no one got it? Must not be true HD fans :P Ariella is the name of Sean Nelson (the lead singer's) wife. This is his song to her, ironically explaining why he was never able to write a song about her in the past. He thanks her for putting up with his dedication to his work. It's his love song to her.
