The Happy Song Lyrics

Listen, my new friend, please
And have a sympathetic tender ear
I was born in this junkyard
And it was the prettiest little thing to me
Here’s the part in the song
Where you think of me all wrong
And here’s the part where I choose
That I got nothing left to lose cause...

Any pain that you could bring to me is nothing comparatively
And I’ve been so lost and found, I can’t smile, I can’t frown
Happy song, nothing’s wrong, it’s all fun, am I done?

How much can one man stand?
Before he kisses a cold dead street?
This cross bears a billion lost souls
Three times do I fall to my bloody bare feet?
Think again my lovely friend
Don’t ask for more you dirty whore

Here’s a part in the song where you tell me you don’t care
I made you in my head and you don’t even care, you don’t care
Happy song, nothing’s wrong, it’s all fun and I’m all done
But now I’m done, this is fun, now I’m done

It's a pretty cool song. If and when these guys put out a CD, I will...buy it. Uhm, yeah. I'm surprised that there's only a combination of like 5 comments of these guys' songs. This song is a contradicting song...and kind of a parody of a song where people try to make you feel sorry for them "Here’s the part in the song Where you think of me all wrong" But I like it. Tis cool.

For Those who dont know this is off " last days " the film..the singer in this is michael pitt who plays blake in the movie " last days " it's like modern day grunge !

The movie "Last Days" itself is great...I've seen it like, three times. But I think the real treasure in it is the music video for this song. I think it's really great...very modern day grunge, I believe. Does anyone know what he's screaming after "And it was the prettiest little thing to me"? I'm wondering. Anyway, I think this song is just about people pretending to be happy, wanting to be happy, even when they know they aren't and never can be. By the way, Pagoda has upped their release date of House of Worship, which sucks, but anyway, it's being released July 18th instead of June 6th

Seems like a pretty sarcastic song, mocking all the songs with lyrics about how awful life is and how sad they are. For example, the lines like "And I’ve been so lost and found, I can’t smile, I can’t frown" and "I made you in my head and you don’t even care, you don’t care".

Hm. A Nirvana B-side was called "Born In A Junkyard". Connection?

I love this song, by the way, but it isn't going to be on Pagoda's self-titled debut album. Which, by the way, has been pushed back even futher to August. (was it the 1st? I think so.)

Yes, unfortunately, it was pushed back to August 1st. But only a little while longer now. And it isn't going to be on their now self-titled album, not that it matters, cuz I already have the song. =D Which is called "Happy Song" by the way, not "THE Happy Song". My friend lectured me on this for about two hours one day...I should know.

If you've seen this music video (an extra on the Last Days DVD) it does seem to be mocking the depressing songs that are out there, considering when the chorus comes (Happy song, nothing's wrong, it's all fun, etc...) the band members are sitting down, grinning as widely as possible, and rocking from side to side. But at the same time, it seems their mocking themselves by being overly happy and even the line in the song "Here's the part in the song/ Where you think of me all wrong and/ Here's the part where I choose/ That I got nothing left to loose"

Definately among my favorite songs. I looove this song.
