Always on My Mind (Brenda Lee cover) Lyrics
Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm sorry I was blind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
Maybe I didn't hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I'm so happy that you're mine
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
Tell me, tell me that your
Sweet love hasn't died
And give me
Give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied
satisfied
Little things I should have
Said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind....
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm sorry I was blind
You were always on my mind
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I'm so happy that you're mine
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
Sweet love hasn't died
And give me
Give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied
satisfied
Said and done
I just never took the time
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind....

awesome.
Well, actually it's not a Willie Nelson song either. He didn't write it nor was he the first to record it, contrary to popular belief. It was written by Johnny Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Carson Thompson. It was first recorded by Brenda Lee in 1973, nearly 10 years before Nelson made it famous. Elvis Presley recorded it prior to Nelson, also.
is that Norah Jones on backup vocals towards the end? It kind of sounds like her and she did "Dear John" so it seems possible.
