Games Lyrics
You ain't but a fire on my sad estate
Burning my house to the ground
High and mellow, oh how she rides me
Out in the meadow where the taxis don't ride
A million times quicker than the pain
Oh, games
A million times better than the pain
You ain't but a telegram nobody's sendin'
Nobody sends me but you
High and mellow, slow and steady
Out in the meadow with you
A million times quicker than the pain
Oh, games
A million times better than the pain
Oh, games
Games, games
Burning my house to the ground
High and mellow, oh how she rides me
Out in the meadow where the taxis don't ride
A million times quicker than the pain
Oh, games
A million times better than the pain
Nobody sends me but you
High and mellow, slow and steady
Out in the meadow with you
A million times quicker than the pain
Oh, games
A million times better than the pain
Oh, games
Games, games

I think its about playing head games. Either shes playing games with him and he's telling her to pretty much knock it off because if she keeps it up he'll leave her. Or he's playing games with her so he doesnt get hurt.
I'm not a big country fan, but I'm a huge Ryan Adams fan. This is one of the best country songs I've heard. It's mellow harmonies are awesome. I'm surprised there's no love for this one yet :(
I love this one too. No idea what it's about, but I'll happily listen to it a hundred times over.
i can't figure this one out. i love it. but what it's about...not sure. anyone got any ideas?
The first time I heard this song and read the lyrics I thought it was about his drug use. Drugs are a million times better than the pain of life(games). High and mellow, oh how she rides me I think refers to how when you are addicted you always feel the need for the drug.
