One of the many reasons i don;t want to turn 17,because then this song won't be the story of my life and no one will serenate me with it ahah (im kidding) Simply about teenage love,and about how young and naive sam cooke was to think it was all going to last forever and he is like "i should have known better" but he didn't because well,he was too young to know.His (possibly) left him scaarred for life and he has learned a lesson and that for future references he won't be so trusting.
