Never Be Free Lyrics

You'll never be free
You'll never be free

This is the place where dreams begin
I'll wait right here for you, my friend
I'll shiver underneath your skin
A brazen thief who walks right in

You can beat yourself up
To the beat of a drum
You can drink 'til you drop
'Til you can't stand up
And it tastes so sweet
It tastes so sweet

You'll never forgive me
You'll never be free
You might as well kill me
You'll never be free
You'll never forgive me
You'll never be free
You might as well kill me
You'll never be free

I'll be a master heroine
Your mother's milk, your adrenaline
Are you a hunter, just like me?
A lot of heart, a little crazy

You can beat yourself up
To the beat of a drum
You can drink 'til you drop
'Til you can't stand up
And it tastes so sweet
It tastes so sweet

You'll never forgive me
You'll never be free
You might as well kill me
You'll never be free
You'll never forgive me
You'll never be free
You might as well kill me
You'll never be free

Your house, your room, your mouth, your bed, your ears, your heart, your veins, your blood

In your house, your room, your mouth, your bed, your ears, your heart, your veins, your blood

You'll never be free
You'll never be free
You'll never be free
You'll never be free

You'll never forgive me
You might as well kill me

People need to appreciate G more!! This is another BLM b-side nobody has commented on. And it happens to be one of my favorites.

I dunno exactly what the song is all about. A relationship gone wrong, I suppose.

I've always thought this song to be telling a story of an unhappy relationship from the perspective of the person who isn't necessarily unhappy. To me, it sounds like Shirley is saying she's in this relationship and though she's arguably happy, she knows that whoever she is with is not...but she always knows that her partner can never leave her. Even if the partner WERE to leave her, they'd never be happy. Sounds like she is definitely the instigator of most of the problems, knows it, and doesn't care.

Basically she's acknowledging that she's got someone wrapped around her finger.

AWESOME B-Side. Can't believe it didn't make it to BLM.

this song is about what the title says it's about... never being free. the listener is ensnared in a circular hell of wanting to love the band/garbage/shirley's singing, but being told he/she will never be free/will never forgive me (shirley), and that he/she might as well kill me (shirley). it's quite tenuous.
