Can't Lose Lyrics
The party's alright, I might wanna stop drinking
What were we talking about?
My body won't tell my mind what I've been thinking
Before it's out of my mouth
The minute I get upset, that's it, it's over
I'm already out of the room
Why can't I just forget that what I know's gonna hurt?
There's not much else I can do
I'm breaking my own rules, becoming someone else
Well everybody says I oughta get over myself
I'm thinking I can't move
If there isn't somewhere else to go
I've probably made mistakes that I've forgotten
It's all ambiguous now
I'd be willing to take the shape of what you wanted
I could just figure it out
I'm breaking my own rules, becoming someone else
Well everybody says I oughta get over myself
I'm thinking I can't move
If there isn't somewhere else to go
I'm breaking my own rules, becoming someone else
Well everybody says I oughta get over myself
I'm thinking I can't move
If there isn't somewhere else to go
Exchanging my issues as far as I can tell
Well everybody says I oughta get over myself
I'm thinking I can't lose
If there isn't somewhere else to go
What were we talking about?
My body won't tell my mind what I've been thinking
Before it's out of my mouth
I'm already out of the room
Why can't I just forget that what I know's gonna hurt?
There's not much else I can do
Well everybody says I oughta get over myself

This song is so duke. It has kind of a Reggae feel to it. The lyrics arent really impressive, but the song has a chill beat and I think its their best song.
Bloody awesome song.
I think this song's sort of self-explainitory (if I've got it right). It's about someone changing, turning into something they're not and really shouldn't be. Probably changing because of trying to please someone else, I think that because of the line "I'd be willing to take the shape of what you wanted if/I could just figure it out".
but..yeah. Pretty self-explanitory
Oh man, they're amazing live! They opened for the arctic monkeys and when they sang this song. WHOOA :). Near the end of the song, the arctic monkeys came out to sing the whoooah part. BRILLIANT! i loved it.
this song IS self explanitory. if you don't get it. you're probably retarded & should get cho head checked, kay kay !
so anyways. we are scientists are awesome. & this is just ONE of their amazingly awesome songs.
wooooooooooooot.
if its so self explanitory then you probably dont get the lyrics

its about someone who is depressed with with somthing, he has a short temper ,hes trying to defend himself but cant because nobody cares and so he changes to fit his mood (emo... upset) which is why people tell him to get over himself. he wants to run away but theres nowhere to go.

The lyrics may not be that impressive at first glance but then you realize that when he sings it... the story in the song completely takes you over. To do that with lyrics so brutally blunt is something special.
I actually write lyrics in this style sometimes because I like the minimalist approach.
Excellent song off an underappreciated album from an underrated band.
Big fan of this band. Particularly this sone and Textbook. Most likely because I can really relate to the message. I must say WAS has a really awesome drummer. His style is quirky and adds a whole different interpretation on how to approach the drums on many of their songs. It's akin to a jazz and drum style.
It is sad that Michael Tapper did his own thing ^^^^^ :(
so true

I think this song its talking about how drinking is affecting his life.
I think this song is about being a mean drunk. He is at a party drinking, he forgets what he was talking about, he talks before thinking. He gets upset for nothing and make a big deal abot everything. He ussually is not like that but... Hey! He is drunk!! lol I don't know about you but... been ther,e done that lol
