I think the meaning of this song is we are living in a cruel world but when you have someone you love you forget about it all and just be happy.
i think of this as being about being in a bit of a twisted friendship/relationship that no one else probably understands, but seems necessary.
I doubt this is anything like what Depeche Mode was trying to convey...but this song really speaks to me about my eating disorder, anorexia.
The lyrics make me feel like I and my disorder are best friends, unable to leave one another, even though it feels so wrong. I feel safe, secure, with anorexia...forgetting to sense I'm dying, as the song states.

I think it means just what it say, were damaged people just trying to make it through this hard word! If you can find someone to share it with then do so. that is what i got out of it.

When I hear the line "When you're in my arms" I accidentally hear "When you're in my ass" but that's irrelevant
I think this song is about two people who've been through a lot and are a bit scarred from it all, in love with eachother and supporting eachother.
