The Rich Man Lyrics
Somehow, I think I’m going home
Even though my friends can’t reach me
I don’t know how I ended up alone
All I know is you can’t save me
They only asked us to believe
They only wanted us to follow
I think I’m old enough to see
I think I’m going home tomorrow
I believe in…
Sinners and hypocrites
Burning in the desert for a rich man
Liars and lunatics
Lead us to the slaughter for our last stand
Killers and idiots
Dying in the desert for a rich man
Sinners and hypocrites
Gather us together for the master plan
I didn’t bother with my faith
How will my family recognize it?
Somehow, I think I’m going home
But I still can’t comprehend it
I know I don’t want to die
But I know dying will not end it
I believe in…
Sinners and hypocrites
Burning in the desert for a rich man
Liars and lunatics
Lead us to the slaughter for our last stand
Killers and idiots
Dying in the desert for a rich man
Sinners and hypocrites
Gather us together for the bastards
I know the truth is all a lie - my skin is cracking on my lips
I don’t pretend that I can understand why we are doing this
My heart has bled a thousand times - how will I live with what we’ve done?
The only comfort is the knowledge that I’m not the only one
Why am I here?
What did I do?
Why?
Even though my friends can’t reach me
I don’t know how I ended up alone
All I know is you can’t save me
They only asked us to believe
They only wanted us to follow
I think I’m old enough to see
I think I’m going home tomorrow
Sinners and hypocrites
Burning in the desert for a rich man
Liars and lunatics
Lead us to the slaughter for our last stand
Killers and idiots
Dying in the desert for a rich man
Sinners and hypocrites
Gather us together for the master plan
How will my family recognize it?
Somehow, I think I’m going home
But I still can’t comprehend it
I know I don’t want to die
But I know dying will not end it
Sinners and hypocrites
Burning in the desert for a rich man
Liars and lunatics
Lead us to the slaughter for our last stand

Wow this song was write by fav singer: COREY TAYLOR!! The song is great! According 2 me this song tell tyhe story of a soldier returning home after the war and he found himself alone as all the others died.
In this song its talking about the war in iraq.
When hes saying: "I believe in… Sinners and hypocrites Burning in the desert for a rich man Liars and lunatics Lead us to the slaughter for our last stand Killers and idiots Dying in the desert for a rich man Sinners and hypocrites Gather us together for the master plan"
Hes talking about the soilders in iraq going into war for "a rich man" or George Bush. Hes talking about all of the lies that have been told to the nation and how the American Leaders are "Sinners and hypocrites, Liars and lunatics, and Killers and idiots".
When he says: " Somehow, I think I’m going home Even though my friends can’t reach me I don’t know how I ended up alone All I know is you can’t save me They only asked us to believe They only wanted us to follow I think I’m old enough to see I think I’m going home tomorrow"
Hes talking about "going home" or going to heaven and that no one can save him from the war hes in.
When he says: "I know the truth is all a lie - my skin is cracking on my lips I don’t pretend that I can understand why we are doing this My heart has bled a thousand times - how will I live with what we’ve done? The only comfort is the knowledge that I’m not the only one"
Hes talking about how all of the Ameriacan leaders are lieing about why they are actually going to war. Hes talking about all of the innocent people in iraq that have sacrificed because of the war created by the Rich Man (George Bush).

yeh i was guna say pretty much the same thing but not in that many words. this song is really good except for the first minuite
I really like the chorus music of this track - I'm definitely not a Slipknot fan so I wasn't expecting much from this track but it's one of my favourites. I have to say though that first when the news footage kicked in I groaned. I'm personally sick of musicians mouthing off about Bush and Iraq. It's all just opinions and we all have them - the only difference is that they get to record and sell theirs. Aside from that I do like this song a lot.
Could anyone throw a link to the full text, including the spoken introduction and end? Thanks.
@Deathbox I had a quick search online but didn't come across it ... easily.

the talking thingy at the beggining of the song that isnt listed in the lyrics is my fave part of the song still not bad tho
to me, this song is most obviously about the war in iraq, there is no denying that. the news footage is important though, if you listen to it it says some REAL shit that's goin on. i loved this song and i cant believe how long it took me to realise it. but i sat down and really listened to it, because thats what musicians like myself do, and i really enjoyed it.
