Here she is referring to the talk she is about to have with her boyfriend, sharp words are threating the relationship which neither of them want to end.

The boyfriend tells her everything is fine and the relationship is not in danger.

Treasure here is referring to other women, this is the ultimate problem in the relationship, is that the man is in it because he does not want to be single but he is really just looking for someone better to come along.

"Can't stop, I'm soaked tonight, wanna find something I believe"

She can't stop interrogating him because she is "soaked" with information about his secret. She's just looking for some proof that he loves her and isn't waiting for the next best thing.

"Open up take me in, makes no sense help me understand"

He has opened up to her and they know a lot about each other, she doesn't understand why he doesn't love her as much as she loves him.

"You tell me of pirate-ships and fairytales, you have me wishing everything was real"

Basically he keeps telling her the relationship is perfect and that she doesn't have anything to worry about. I like the use of pirate-ship and fairytale because fairytale goes well with describing the fake relationship and pirate-ship goes well with the tracking treasure down analogy.

To sum it all up, the girl singing the song is with a man who she has fallen in love with, but he is only with her because he doesn't want to be single and he's only waiting for the next best thing to show up. She keeps hearing stories from other people about his true views on their relationship and how he is only looking for a better girl( i think this is implied because gabriel and dresden sing the chorus in the song, showing how they are telling her about the relationship ).

This part of the song sounds like shes involved with someone deceiving her.

Sounds like the person is putting on a front that what they have is real but she knows its eventually going to end

Sounds like shes using her situation as an analogy to a fairy tale such as pirates which find and steal treasure to a deceitful man which who gets involved with women and steal their hearts

Overall - Song sounds like a woman who thought she had something real with a man who put on a front and shes realizing its all not real

To me it sounds like she's singing, "What don't..." vs "Why don't..." Anyone else hear this too? "What don't" seems to fit better, or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part. :)

To me it seems like a relationship where it seemed perfect, and things were just getting started, but at the same time one of them was still in love with someone else, or looking for someone better possibly.

This seems like someone in the relationship prob gave false hope to the other, but they knew they could never go far enough in the relationship because they were in love with someone else at the time.

whomever enterered the lyrics here got a few of them wrong. the line "can't stop, i'm soaked tonight" is really "can't stop myself tonight" and to answer zerosine the line in question; what is written, "why do you tell me...why don't ya tell me" is actually the correct words. this song has nothing to do with rolling on e or any drugs at all, unless you are talking about that one drug we call...love.

I took this song so personal considereing what i was going through. I interpeted in what i was going through. I was involved with someone who was already taken and we had an affair. For me i felt like she was in the same position. The other person knew they shouldn't lead her on but at the same time he's pursing something with her "tracking treasure down"
At the end is what gets me where she says "you had me wishing that everything was real" That's how i felt with this guy that i knew it was wrong and it could all end but he would only tell me things i want to hear instead of giving me the reality that we would never be together.
