Always Worth It Lyrics
Half forgotten things
In the depths of time they lie
With significance
Waiting for the simplest sign of life
See the evidence
That expense is part of life in time
Always worth it if only to realise
Not always perfect but somehow deserving of time
Disconnected things, you exist within a kind of truth
And the consequence is a consummated trial of fire
Always worth it if only to realise
Not always perfect but somehow deserving of time
You've no way out, no path in
Set on paper, half in stone
You're on your own
Always worth it if only to realise
Not always perfect but somehow deserving of time
In the depths of time they lie
With significance
Waiting for the simplest sign of life
See the evidence
That expense is part of life in time
Not always perfect but somehow deserving of time
And the consequence is a consummated trial of fire
Not always perfect but somehow deserving of time
Set on paper, half in stone
You're on your own
Not always perfect but somehow deserving of time

Lovely song that seems to just have a general meaning, that some things in life will take effort and even if in the end it doesn't end up perfectly the effort was worth it.
Puts you in a nice mood, will at least it does for me!
Got to say the music video has me a bit confused though.
It's such a strange song. The music itself is done cheerfully, and for the most parts, the lyrics, though towards the end, it paints a bleak message: "you've no way out, no path in" and "you're on your own". Is she contradicting herself, or is pointing the flaw in her own lyrics?
i think it's just talking about mistakes and things that you regret, or forgiving in people that in the end didn't deserve it, but it was worth it because you learnt from it. ?
oh yeah and. this song always cheers me up :)
To me she is singing about life in general... Sometimes in life you make mistakes, or things don't pan out perfectly like you'd hoped/planned, or you go through trials in life that you had no control over...,. But its during the trials of life that you learn valuable lessons, who you truly are as a human being, and what matters most. Things aren't always perfect in life, but it's always worth it, even if it's just to realize meaning e.g. truth, what matters, etc. Your alive, and there is no way to fully understand the meaning of our human existence in both heartfelt and logical terms e.g. What is the meaning of life (theres no way in), and there isn't exactly any way of escaping the human experience while you're alive unless your human experience comes to an 'end' (no way out). And.. while you can form deep meaningful connections throughout life with other souls, consciously you are technically alone in your own mind, and nobody experiences life exactly the same as someone else (you're on your own). I know that sounds a bit deep and airy fairy, but it's the only way I could sum up my interpretation of this song.
It's basically just about life, and in the end, the ironic beauty of life is always worth it.
