Meet me up on ninety nine
beneath the mark of polo sign
ill be the one one with a box of wine
and a hundred dollar car

they talk about the lives we've led
and count the reasons we're not dead
or maybe we could talk instead about the ways in which we are

always nothing or too much to say
only so many sides of a record to play
and the song that got stuck in my head said,

you will die by what you live by (x3)
every time

like carnivors to carnal pleasures
so are we to desperatue measures
melting into stagnant puddles
beat down by the sun, i went to school
i didn't say, spoke right up when i had nothing good to say
and i said it to anyone who would listen
lay me down in a bed that i made
starve for sleep by the shrill seronade
singing over and over,

you will die by what you live by (x3)
every time
you will die by what you live by (x3)
every time

living by 'nothing' is still living by something (not choosing is a choice). I think this may be more about what you live by 'killing' you to other options-you become dead to possibilities, and can only live in one manner. Every positive choice is the denial of a (practically) infinite set of alternatives. So choose carefully
