You've Made Us Conscious Lyrics
We are the leaders and the preachers
Teaching you what is right from wrong
And even if a hint of nonsense
Has made us clearly conscious
We'll be the first ones to act
Be the first ones to act in
Tic-tock of the clock
And a knock at the...
Oh, oh, oh
Look at what we've all tried not to become
Another fabricated self-portrait
Oh, oh, no
Take another glance and remember
We're the ones setting you up to take our fall
You are the so-called weak and reckless
Waiting for the next big explosion
No matter if it's wrong or right
If we let you have it
You'll be the first to destroy
Be the first to destroy it
Tic-tock of the clock
And a knock at the...
Oh, oh, oh
Look at what we've all tried not to become
Another fabricated self-portrait
Oh, oh, no
Take another glance and remember
We're the ones setting you up to take our fall
The simple ways we roll our eyes
Are exactly how we disguise our secrets
You know you need this (x2)

This is a good song, not as good as their demo version off the Victory Records sampler, but none the less, still good. This song seems to be about people wearing out the scene. The band's not trying to become "another fabricated self-portrait" The video explains a lot too, its people basicly going in and out of a factory like zombie children just listening to whatever corprate america hands to them. Good stuff right there.
I agree, the "Scene Factory" lmao.
seems to go from a point of view of corporate eyes to the eyes of the people. showing what they think and what we think...its a good song with a very good concept
I'm glad not many people know about this band, because the whole message in this song would get misinterpreted by those who are in fact 'waiting for the next biggest explosion'. The scene kids.
I might try and really get into them, because it sums up my anger against those who take great bands and turn them into trends that become so popular they get hated.
I think when people sell out sometimes its ok cause they deserve the money and stuff its just when they change who they are to fit a profile or something its not ok then. like mcr they're so different and i kinda hate them now but the used didn't change who they are...anyway this song is awesome
ok...i really like this song...but i love the band too...like i agree with you comabot...it helps me release my anger and it definatly could be misinterpreted...but im sad because i think kthese guys played and i missed it...oh well...i guess brooke runyan was ------>
i love this song. it has a good beat and stuff. and its not all about love and stuff too. it has a point.
I also found out about this song off of the victory records sampler. kinda like the special suprize inside a cereal box. i find it ironic that victory records puts out a campaign about "beating coorprate rock" when hawthorne heights is a coorperate sell out, and atreyu has a large fan base. and then victory comes out with a commerical sponcering them. tho i'm a hypocrate cause i bought the hawthorne hieghts cd four moths ago.
*months
i saw them live at st pete with aiden and 30 seconds to mars, they really rocked out the stage. and i get that refrain stuck i boght the cd and i met danny the singer and he signed it and was pretty cool down to earth
