Music For A Nurse Lyrics

And a piece of the pictures bitten right out of the middle
I'm alone and thinner I feel
Is this a prayer?
Anaesthetise me just til you return
I feel the loss like a squandered opportunity to whisper
You're all I ever needed.

Shapes fall into place
For once in your life you make
A clean breakaway.

And did you know that everything you touch is blessed and all the richer
For your love a better being
And if I display just a fraction of the soul you showed in this world
Then I know I'll see you again

Love so much to give
And too few to share it with
Wastes you away.

The dream it comes again and again
You're here
It's you
I pull you close and
Hold you tight
Into the sky you go
You go
And I can't change it
I can't change it.

this....is so beautiful. hands down one of the best oceansize songs. it has such heart, such soul. i think it's about having to let go of the best person that has ever come into the guy's life. the middle part gets me the most. it's so beautiful.

All I know is the first time I heard this song 'properly' I was very stoned...not a laughing/giggly stoned but a very thoughtful stoned...I closed my eyes and this song was pure brilliance. Every chord in the intro gave me visions of childhood memories some good and some bad. All in all the song was an amazing journey. What an awesome song!

This is my crying song, this is the song i listen to when i'm either with her or not, this song saved my life (not even kidding) and gave me the confidence to move on, even though i was hurting very badly

This is an incridible song and the lyrics are legendary, i can fully relate to this song and that's the reason why it's my crying song, there is no other way for me to cry except by listening to this song.

(Whoever hates this song is a complete idiot!!)

My best friend recently died, and for me, this song strikes a particularly poignant note (enough for me to bother registering for this site!) The second half of this song is amazing. The peice as a whole is a beautiful bit of music. I dont usually like people thinking they know the meanings of songs (especially when they make it so literal!) The great thing about it is its so universal. A song like this however has given me great personal comfort, and to that extent I am forever grateful. Thats the joy of music, it can help you with a breakup, can help you grieve, and can help you love.

this is such a beautiful song, so taouching, warming, but sad.... love it's about losing an important person in life, aperson who showed that he (you) the way to who you are... influenced his person what i love best tho about this is how he's coming to terms with the death, or absence, of the special person but that he also sees how he must continue to live (go on) and do it well to hopefully see him/her once again

It shook my spine when I first heard it, and when I concentrated on the lyrics, it was even more shocking. Beautiful song, together with this poetry that makes it so special.

I believe it's about a couple parting. Maybe she died, maybe she just went away, but he feels he still needs her. I can relate to the feeling 100% and I'm not happy about it :-(

"If I display just a fraction of the soul you showed in this world then I know I'll see you again"

My feelings turned into words by someone I don't know, thanks!

Basically, i reckon Oceansize are riduculously christian in their lyrics. The bit about "if I display just a fraction of the soul you showed in this world Then I know I'll see you again" is about how if they can become even a little bit like Jesus then they'll go to heaven and see him there. And also it's about how much love God has for all of mankind.

"Basically, i reckon Oceansize are riduculously christian in their lyrics"

Are you serious? What drives you to make that assumption? Yes, there are parts in this one, particular song that could essentially evoke a Christian message, however the song is called "Music For a Nurse", so that pretty much shoots down your idea right there seeing as how it was written for a woman. Plus the line "Is this a prayer?" evokes a feeling of being uncomfortable praying to any sort of higher power because of not being used to doing it, therefore asking himself, "is this...

In response to NaillB, I don't see any evidence whatsoever that this song is a religious reference, or that any Oceansize song is for that matter. If you think about it, half of the lyrics in the world could be applied to religion if you skew it that way. I don't think that was their intent.
