i think this song is symbolic/metaphorics of few things

1) it's about abandonning a religion, one the writer's been "devoted" to for some time, and he finally sees there's more out there, better for him

2) about betraying religion - its values, morals, doctrine, etc - through sex "Is it coming over you?... we should come together... my inhibitions soon dissipating... this release inside of me... i'm peaking quicker"

this tho, is most definitely about abandonding religion(see last stanza of song), veiled thourgh sexual connotation

i think the "pledge allegiance and all's forgiven" bit is sorta sarcastic, it's definately about abandoning religion, there's a lot of comment towards it throughout the whole album

Definitely about a religious experience rivaling that of a drug binge. Both are equally bad, in my opinion. Both will numb your mind and keep you from thinking for yourself. Go chase down your preacher / dealer and get more of what you need (see You Can't Keep a Bad Man Down). This is definitely a concept album. The small fact that the words "clogging" and "stall" are in a few of the songs make it so. The album as a whole, for me, is about how everyone is sedated and numb in different ways while life is happening around us for the few who aren't. Then we die. But we stay in "position" and "asleep" (see Ornament / The Last Wrongs). I've learned alot from this album but I still can't seem to get my lazy butt up from this computer.
