i thinks its about how rock stars are looked up to and expected to fulfill a certain image that is not really them or not soemthing they can maintain honestly. he tellin everyone that hes not the bad ass rock star everyone thinks he is and hes a normal human who goes thru traumas just like everyone else, and cant be expected to be a super hero

I think this song is about the pressures of fame...though the lyrics are hard to follow, perhaps reflecting the state of mind of one in Weiland's position?

I think it's also a thinly veiled reference to David Bowie (one of Scotts biggest influences) and his song Rock n Roll Suicide. That song was for the sixties seventies, Pop's Love Suicide is the 90's update?

I think it's about how the public reacts to deaths, being actually homicides which get referred to/covered up as suicides. Like the murder of Sid Vicious, Kurt Cobain, Heath Ledger, it has to do with covered-up death mysteries I believe.

theres a song off their newest album called Fast as I Can and the verses of that song sound alot like this song
