Bear Hides and Buffalo Lyrics
Lead canoes collide inside
Pocahontas came to me in a reverie
War paint and tobacco stains
Piss on the earth
A pile of dead men
A pile of dead dead men
Bear hides and buffalo
Mildew with fever
In a time of wintryness
Naked bronze trembling queen
Stolen from Egypt
Burried in England
Island of the blue dolphin
Pocahontas came to me in a reverie
War paint and tobacco stains
Piss on the earth
A pile of dead men
A pile of dead dead men
Mildew with fever
In a time of wintryness
Naked bronze trembling queen
Stolen from Egypt
Burried in England
Island of the blue dolphin

it sounds to me like this song is the story of a person's view of the demise of the American Indian race and their once beautiful land
Just absurd. Get lit and listen to this song.
I remember re-reading Island of the Blue Dolphins over and over as a child as it was one of my favorite books. And I love that CocoRosie tied that in with this song.
bear hides and buffalo.
it is bear not bare.
this song creeps me out.
island of the blue dolphin is a book about indians or native americans or some other islanders (obviously)
yaa wow this song is so damn creepy, but anyway yeah i agree with heKtaxks and skinintotea. it all fits together, island of the blue dolphin and the lyrics/mood of the song
It reminds me of harry potter...
To me, this song is about colonialism. How natives get killed and robbed by "more powerful countries" and how i end up seeing treasures of my country as a part of a bounty exhibition in the British Museum.
