The way this song speaks to me🥺🥺when I sing it I feel like I relate
You don't know me
But I'm sitting next to you
Every morning
On the bus or on the tube
You look tired
Would it help to hear me say
Don't you worry
Friday's not that far away?
On the weekends
We try to get our share
Of excitement and of fresh air
Trying to forget
Who we're gonna be
When the alarm rings
On monday morning
If in the evening
All you do is watch TV
'Cause your too tired for anything else
You're just like me
Just remember
As you struggle through the day
Relief awaits you
Friday's not that far away
But I'm sitting next to you
Every morning
On the bus or on the tube
You look tired
Would it help to hear me say
Don't you worry
Friday's not that far away?
On the weekends
We try to get our share
Of excitement and of fresh air
Trying to forget
Who we're gonna be
When the alarm rings
On monday morning
If in the evening
All you do is watch TV
'Cause your too tired for anything else
You're just like me
Just remember
As you struggle through the day
Relief awaits you
Friday's not that far away

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
I love this song.. It's a shame the Perishers aren't more well known, they're fantastic! I tihnk this song is pretty self explanitory.. Very beautiful..
I saw an interview with The Perishers, and in it Ola said that he used to work an 8 - 5 job and that the whole week all he could wait for was the weekend. He talks about how people who work 8 - 5 jobs are the true heroes, trudging through tedious and monotonous work.... just a thought. It's a good song, very deep, and touching, but i guess all their songs are.
I saw the same interview as siobs, and yea, basically that's what it's about. Every once in a while a band comes along and you just know that all they want to do is make music. The Perishers are that kind of band. If they can get the recognition, they are gonna go so far. It's not even a matter any more of making great music, because they've already done that. It's more of just getting their music out there.
At the end of the interview Ola said, "The other guys are my best friends, I don't know what I'd be without them, and without the band. It's SO important to me." The Perishers are AMAZING. And that's the reason why.
It's such a sad song.. but it gives hope when he sings: "Don’t you worry Friday’s not that far away"
Love it
"You don't know me, but I'm sitting next to you"... Isn't it sweet? I do love this song... It gives me some reflection... It says in the end after a week of work you have the weekend, that little time to relax... And don't think of anything. This song is in The O.C., which I really ADORE... I like even the line "Would it help to hear me say, don't you worry, friday's not that far away?"... Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
