50 Million Year Trip (Downside Up) Lyrics

I am dreaming
I am rolling (you can't stop me)
I am hiding
I am running (you can't stop me)

But I'll never forget you in any way
But I'll never forget you in any way
But I'll never forget you in any way
But I'll never forget you

I am dreaming
I am rolling (you can't stop me)
I am running
I am rolling (you can't stop me)

But I'll never forget you in any way
But I'll never forget you in any way
But I'll never forget you in any way
But I'll never forget you

Soon I came to realize
As this world began to turn
That never could I stay here and return

No fool for you, in this I am
Under the corner of your mouth (your mouth)
Fight this fear
Fight this fear

I don't know how the lyrics are so wrong at the end. It should go:

"Soon I came to realize as his world began to turn That river was heading to return A fool realease I am From the corner of your mouth Fight this, man"

Great song. I love the psychedelic conclusion - I could literally listen to it forever.

I don't think the lyrics are right here either, but judging from the title and the first half, I'm guessing that this is about fighting an addiction, and, ultimately, failing due to the memories spent and attached to the drug (probably teh_weed).

Ok, so. I've been analyzing this song for a few weeks now, and I'm mainly taking, in addition to the song itself, their live in Essen, 1995.

The audio quality is somewhat good, so that it's actually possible to understand what the final part of the lyrics sounds like.

1) I do believe that at the very start of the song, before the first verse, in the original recording, someone says "50 Million Year Trip", with that weird, pitch-y filter.

2) The final part goes like this:

"Soon I became to realize As the world began to turn

Have you ever considered hell Only to return?

No fool, for you Inside out, Under the corner of your mouth (your mouth)"

"Fight this fear/Fight this, man"

(Unsure of this last bit. The recording could be "Fight this fear", but during the Live Gracia whispers something completely different. So it could either be something completely different, or a close soundalike. Garcia already modified the final bit, in other concerts, so maybe it's something unique)

Aaaand here you go. No time wasted, in my opinion. Personally it's the best song from Blues, if not one of the best they ever wrote. That trippy jam always makes my brain melt. Hope this helped anyone who remained confused or wanting for specific, accurate lyrics. Peace out, Kyuss lives on.

omg i can't believe people don't post about kyuss, they r so great, but more people post about dashborad 'shit' confessional. its so trip this song, and i think myself its about someone who is jsut running away from everything, and is drinking his problems away I am drinking I am rolling (you can't stop me) I am hiding I am running (you can't stop me) he could be talkin about his family, or the city he lives in, jsut running away from all the problems the city has or teh problems he has with his family. thats my thrughts on it. prob wrong about the meanin vo :)

"See our family to realize As it's running down today I love the city love the day

No fool for you In this I am I'm never gonna run about"

Um...no. Nice try though. If anyone knows the correct lyrics please post them.

I always understood:

"It didnt take me long to realize That the world isnt meant for me"

It very clearly talks about the drug escapism, hence the title.

I think this album have lots of songs that may reffer to anger against drug abuse... downside up must mean that the conclusion is in fact the end of the song, and the rest would be just the introduction

just a tought..

kyuss really rocks, opiumforthepeople's explanation sounds the most honest to me, and kyuss is clearly much of a drug influenced band so I guess it'a about drug escapism

kyuss kicks ass
