Drink up beautiful
I spiked your cup with angst and a heart attack,
'Cause I've got so much trapped and it's all because of you
So I figured you might like some back

But when I see her I'll tell her what's been on my mind all these sleepless night
She'll recite her excuses I'll put my tail between these legs of mine like I do all the time

I can't live my life knowing you'll be in his arms each time I blink my eyes
I know what goes on behind my back,
Every night I'm afraid I'll never leave,
Afraid I'll never know what's good for me

But when I see her I'll tell her what's been on my mind all these sleepless night
She'll recite her excuses I'll put my tail between these legs of mine like I do all the time

And now you say that,
You say you love me
Well I may have your heart, but he has your body
And now you swear that you're being honest,
But you're not honest, you never could be

But when I see her I'll tell her what's been on my mind all these sleepless night
She'll recite her excuses I'll put my tail between these legs of mine like I do all the time

this has a very specific meaning to me...i have an ex-boyfriend i was with for a very long time and we broke up because i wanted to date someone else now that i turned everything upside down to go back to him, he's with someone else...i've been waiting for 1 month and this song describes everything so well...

"I've got so much trapped and it's all because of you." -he makes me feel like i have so much trapped because i have based everything on him...and i can't tell anyone about him.

"And when I see her I'll tell her whats been on my mind, All these sleepless nights, she'll recite her excuses, Put my tail between these legs of mine; Like i do all the time" -whenever i see him or talk to him i ask him when he'll be back, i ask him if he loves her, i ask him if he loves me. i have insomnia because i'm always stressing this out. i put my tail in between my legs and swallowed my pride if it meant him coming back.

"Can't live my life; Knowing you'll be in his arms, each time I blink my eyes; Know what goes on behind my back; every night. Afraid I'll never leave; afraid I'll never know whats good for me" -i can't function as a human being when a lot of what i've learned from living is with him. just thinking she's hugging me hurts. i know everytime he sees her he sleeps with her. im afraid i'm stuck here, i know this isn't good for me.

"And now you say that; you say you love me. Well i may have your heart, he has your body And now you swear that; you're being honest, But you're not honest, you never could be" -he says he loves me, on valentines day he came to my house 3am and said "i may be with her this night coming up but my heart and soul lay with you" but she has his body. He swears he's honest actions speak louder than words...and he'll never fess up to leave me...or her.

he's been with her for 3 months i've been with him 4 years. i should move one...i'm just a masochist. hahaha.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
