Puncture Repair Lyrics
I leaned on you today
I regularly hurt but never say
I nearly wore the window through
Where was air sea rescue?
The cavalry with tea and sympathy
You were there
Puncture repair
I leaned on you today
I regularly hurt but never say
You patched me up and sent me on my way
I leaned on you today
I regularly hurt but never say
I nearly wore the window through
Where was air sea rescue?
The cavalry with tea and sympathy
You were there
Puncture repair
I regularly hurt but never say
You patched me up and sent me on my way
I leaned on you today

Guy Garvey explained in an interview that this was simply about his friend (Jupp, drummer) being there for him when he needed him.
"We recorded this in Craig's house. I have the best mates in the world." - Guy Garvey
i adore this song, it's quite unspoken but it's fantastic. one day it just jumped out, and seemed to fit the situation perfectly.
the song speaks for itself; a way of saying thanks to someone who helped in some way, small or big, listening to him and just being there. its about normally hiding feelings but then this person lets him show his emotions and he's grateful.
its beautiful.
This song feel so much like me. I forget just how important it is just to have someone there to listen. I get the feeling I should have sang this song to a lot of people I now miss.
