Platano Lyrics

I’ve got these hands and I’ve got some oxygen...
I just don’t know what to do with it.
Brandy tricks and treats the knees and I fell for it...
Somehow they say this doll will sway and
Swing between the universe and me
We’ll spend our days fast and grey…
Trying not to drink the sea.
We’re so stout and double faced…
Becoming prophets everyday with a gospel
Of how we grooved and all the breath that it removed

The rebellion is over...
The colors are much bolder…
And the emperor’s new clothes sag...

I’ll try my best, I’ll make it fit...
But the more it grinds the worse it gets...
I watch it shake my hold of it...
The more it runs the more tired I get…

Take all of space, the earth and how it tastes
I never loved it anyways…
We fought the rain with the heaviest chains
Hoping to drown or float away...
Everything you could have been...
Has been rebuilt with gauze and tin
What I want is just to get on
Never get off
Never move on

And I don’t have a single cell to pawn...
To the tricks the devil trips us on…

We arm this room and get left in empty tombs…
As the invisible break through
Screaming I know how to make this easier...
…I can make it easier...
I can make it….

I've got these hands and I've got some oxygen... I just don't know what to do with it. Brandy tricked and treats the knees, and I fell for it... Somehow they say this door will sway and Swing between the universe and me. We'll spend our days fast and grey, Trying not to drink the sea. We're so stout and double faced, Becoming prophets everyday with a gospel Of how we grooved and all the breath that it removed.

The rebellion is over... The colors are much bolder, And the emperor's new clothes sag...

I'll try my best, I'll make it fit... But the more it grinds the worse it gets... I watch it shake my hold of it... The more it runs the more tired I get.

Take all of space, the earth and how it tastes, I never loved it anyways... We fought the rain with the heaviest chains, Hoping to drown or float away... Everything you could have been... Has been rebuilt with gauze and tin What I want is just to get on, Never get off, Never move on.

And I don't have a single cell to pawn... To the tricks the devil trips us on.

I'll try my best, I'll make it fit... But the more it grinds the worse it gets... I watch it shake my hold of it... The more it runs the more tired I get.

We arm this room and get left in empty tombs, As the invisible break through, Screaming, "I know how to make this easier... I can make it easier, I can make it easier" I can make it..

Another life, I owe to me.. I owe to me.. I owe to me..

Hes saying he messed up an amazing relationship by doing something stupid. Imagine realizing you lost the most amazing person in the world and not being able to do anything about it. Missing this person, he also believes this person still has an emotional tie to him somehow. Although the past is the past, it seems so much more brighter than the future because youre stuck reminiscing on someone. Youd give anything to get them back and youd feel like youve lost everything..maybe even more personal and emotional issues.

This song has a lot of meaning and awesome metaphors..Nick Torres is just a lyrical and musical genius.

sweet song its about the struggle of life

Platano - name gives it away, although drugs and alcohol are what people mainly think about in terms of lyrics.

American Low seems like the Katrina deal. As we sleep in this broken caddilac...so lets just lie here as they paint us black......the country treats as we all sick. He couldve been through some sad stuff with the hurricane and all.

It does kind of seem like it's about struggle.

Everything you could have been Has been rebuilt with gauze and tin What I want is just to get on Never get off Never move on

I think that he is kind of expressing a yearning for something simple. He wants to be content in the imperfections of everything around him that he is now acknowledging.

"Brandy tricks and treats the knees and I fell for it..."

this song is clearly about alchoholism... i love this song so much... along with every other song they have come out with so far...

i love this song its so peaceful, and calm, but the lyrics are really meaningful at the same time.

"Everything you could have been Has been rebuilt with gauze and tin" - drugs!

"Brandy tricks and treats the knees..." - alcohol!

so whoever said this is about addiction is probably right. how you get so caught up in addiction that you lose focus on any goals you might have in life. how you get so wrapped up in it that you care about nothing else anymore - "Take all of space, the earth and how it tastes, I never loved it anyways…"

What is up with the new intro to the song on the cd? I liked the straight cut in cause it seemed a lot deeper, but oh well I didn't make it lol, I downloaded the old version long time ago so I won't complain
