Too Sexy For The Scene

The meaning of this song couldn't be clearer. It's saying that the lead singer doesn't believe in dressing a certain way just to fit in the "scene"..

"What's the point of a fucking scene base of fashion, pretense, and authority keep your rules and your fucked up dreams, I'm to fucking sexy for this scene"

He's saying that he doesn't want to be a part of the "scene" which doesn't focus on the music but instead focuses on what kind of clothings, fashions etc. that you wear. So since there are so many expectations for being a "part" of the scene he is saying that he is just too sexy for it.. meaning that he doesn't want to be a part of it since he cannot fit into the ideals/expectations required. Anyways an overall good song... I really do agree with the lead singer on his ideals.

''lip locked with pretence while she's pissing on the dream." -- the lead singer is talking about the males who call themselves 'scene' or part of 'the scene'. a male who is 'scene' is stereotypically known as a homosexual, so in my opinion, he says 'she's pissing on the dream' to communicate the way you have to be 'gay' to be counted as a male who is 'scene'. "and we've got the perfect shirts, our pants so tight they fucking hurt" 'the perfect shirts' - the stereotypical image of a 'scenester' / 'emo' clad in a traditional band shirt and the signature tight pants which are a must for you to wear if you wish to be counted as part of 'the scene'.

i mean seriously, all you 'scene'/'emo' guys out there, give your trouser-snake some room to breathe. 'k, ty.
