To me this song is about one of those rocky relationships that every one has been through... there are so many ups and downs that you actually get used to the bad times! I think when he says that he 'thinks of saving himsel'f, VH's is saying that he could break up with her and "save" himself from all the bad times, BUT he'd rather stay with this woman he loves and just go through all the drama. That what this song is saying I think... Sometimes love is a sacrifice.. sometimes you gotta give up your peace of mind for those moments of perfect togetherness.

We are so conditioned by all the bad that we don't know what to do with all the good when its actually right in front of us...

So we sabotage...so we destroy...and so we reject anything good in hopes of 'Saving ourselves' from possible agony. In actuality, we lose out on life and love and tend to forget that the things we really want are worth taking chances on and working hard for.

Fear paralizes us all... Its like a mental/emotional/physical handicap and we're all struggling to get rehabilitated so that we can function again blinded by how we got into that negative state in the first place.

Life is a hit and miss, a series of trials and errors... But without taking that scary yet brave step forward... Its a definate lose lose... I rather know what its like to try than be 'safe' and not try at all...

this song is some serious work!! a sleeper who keeps ya up all nite if you give him the chance. this cd is amazing.

This song came on right after I got done arguing with my g/f. Bitter irony. But hilarious.
