For all you's out there who get to the bottom of the song, and think: "R.I.P Katie Chapple? Who the hell is that?!"
Well... Katie Chapple is my mum, and this is a song we dedicated to her at her funeral July of last year. She died of cancer, and I relate to this song a lot.
"Losin' the battle alone you cried
You let it end with no shame
Anger inside, I watched you fade away
Now you're gone away"
Having the cancer, she was losing the "battle", the battle to stay alive. When the battle ended, she showed no shame. She was angry, angry at everything, angry at the cancer, the doctors, everyone. Even though it was that night in July that she actuaklly died, but she had been fading away for a while until she finally let go.
Then I think the song explains how everyone has their turn to die, and when it happens, you "Face All Your Fears & Stand Alone"
This song makes me cry everytime I hear it. It was played at her funeral, and I put it on my iPod with all my emo/hardcore shit, and I probably listen to it just as often as my songs.
The other day, I played this song about 5 times down at the cemetary when I went to see my mum's grave after school (I'm in grade 9 by the way).
I bet this song is very meaningful to alot of you guys out there too. If you love this song -- comment on it!
