Somebody More Like You Lyrics
I didn't hear you say you're sorry
The fault must be mine
I wish you all the best of luck at
Finding somebody more like you
You said you'd love me always truly
I must have changed
'Cause you don't need me like you used to
I hope you find somebody more like you
I hope you finally find someone
Someone that you trust
And give him everything
I hope you meet someone your height
So you can see eye to eye
With someone as small as you
You came out of nowhere and made me smile
Then tore me in two
Saying we're very different people so dear
I hope you find somebody more like you
I hope you find somebody more like you
The fault must be mine
I wish you all the best of luck at
Finding somebody more like you
I must have changed
'Cause you don't need me like you used to
I hope you find somebody more like you
Someone that you trust
And give him everything
I hope you meet someone your height
So you can see eye to eye
With someone as small as you
Then tore me in two
Saying we're very different people so dear
I hope you find somebody more like you
I hope you find somebody more like you

somebody's sad and knows that the other half of the relationship has decided to move on and let him down. disappointed, this person wishes the best of all to the one he loves. but he's kinda resignated to let it go this way.
This song really hits me hard. Considering I'm going through a break up right now, I know exactly the feelings. In a situation when you're really not the person who messed it up, you first feel like its your fault, "I didn't hear you say you're sorry the fault must be mine." Then you go back and start to analyze those old words, "You said you'd love me always truly I must have changed cause you don't need me like you used to." Then you look back on the entire thing and just feel bad all around, "You came out of nowhere and made me smile then tore me in two saying we're very different people so dear."
I hope you meet someone your height So you can see eye to eye With someone as small as you
Enough Said.
This song is actually the one that turned me on to Nickel Creek in the first place-- I related to it so well.
He's being sarcastic, he doesn't think it's his fault, and when he wishes that she finds someone just like her, he's wishing that she finds someone that will hurt her like she hurt him, because she is just a small person, not short.
Eeeexactly, phoonzang. That's my favorite line of the song, actually.
This is one of the better songs on the album, in my opinion.
Mmm. This song is dripping with bitterness it seems... it's probably why I love it so much. It reminds me a lot of a breakup i'm kind of still in the middle of. Everything always seems to be my fault... He wanted to change everything about me to make me more like him... We never see eye to eye on anything... When You Come Back Down introduced me to Nickel Creek... but this song made me stay.
I love the song.
Well, I'm an old fan. First I love this song because Sean sings it. I also love the song because its a new sound. AND most importantly because its some of the best lyrics I've ever heard. Their not hard to interpret. Some girl left him for no reason and gave him the overused cheesy line, "I just think we're different, I need someone more like me." He knew that was BS and wrote an awesome song.
so i want to sing this to my ex and then punch him in the face. ha. but no really.
you came out of nowhere and made me smile.. then tore me in two. --- jerk.sigh
Actually I believe that this song is about this guys wife because they just had a divorce...at least thats what was said on the radio. beautiful song by the way, and fun to play on the guitar =)
