Annexation of Puerto Rico Lyrics

Do you ever feel alone?
Are you ever coming home?
Do you ever feel like breaking out like I do now?
Did you ever wonder why we could never touch the sky?
As if god had put these limitations on us
Say your prayers little one
‘Cause I’ll be there

At night we sleep a thousand dreams is all we need to forget her
This murder I commit inside my head is all I want to remember
But I want her back

They’ve got us in this cage
Deprived of all our rage
And our hearts they scream like lions at what they have done
And if angels had a name
Then I’d never be the same
Well then what is yours and where now can I find you?

What do I care?

I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. It's one of my favorites by them. I'm sorry i have no idea what it's about though. i just thought it looked lonely without any comments.

I love this song. and when i went to a tattoo parlor, the guy that worked me saw me wearing my meriwether shirt and asked if i knew this song and he basically said that it was about him, his ex, and his ex's fiancee. and that the girl died in her sleep and they want her back. it's something along those lines from what i've been told.. i don't know if it's completely true or not

Not that anyone gives a shit but this song was written by Drew from my standpoint not long after I lost my fiancee on Nov 11th 2004. Fred Spencer, (Who appparently gave the Heather chick above me a tattoo), gave a slightleyn altered version where he had something to do with the song, which he didn't. Ask Drew. Case Closed.

           i miss you Caroline....

I don't know if any of you read Bukowski but...

The line "And our hearts they scream like lions at what they have done" was basically taken from The People Look Like Flowers at Last. Chapter one is called "the heart roars like a lion at what they've done to us."
