I used to dream about the theater
After the show we'd all get stoned
I used to talk about the pictures that I thought would
change the world

But I was wrong
And you were always right
I didn't want to see
That I was wrong
And you were always right
I didn't want to see

I used to live inside a daydream
I thought I knew the way to go
I used to think that I said words that had a chance to
change the world

But I was wrong
And you were always right
I didn't want to see
That I was wrong
And you were always right
I didn't want to see

General CommentThis song is just about youthful idealism, and a false sense of worth. It's basically the antithesis to all the pathetic self-esteem and acheivement kind of posters that are always in middle school classrooms. Like that crap "Shoot for the moon...Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars".
You can't make a difference, no matter how hard you try.

At least that's what this negative Nancy takes from it.
