Getting Older Lyrics
It's nine o'clock, i'm getting tired
I'm sick of all my records and the clothes i bought today
Am i cracking up, or just getting older?
I'm staying in, i can't be bothered
Making conversation with the friends that i don't know
Am i cracking up, or just getting older?
(guitar solo)
And i bet that this is how life
Turns out when you're finally grown
And you know if this is my life
I'll sit around all day and i'll moan
I'm halfway up to the bottom
Of another bottle of my next best favourite friend
Am i cracking up, or just getting older?
You're not cracking up, you're just getting older
We're not cracking up, we're just getting older
I'm sick of all my records and the clothes i bought today
Am i cracking up, or just getting older?
Making conversation with the friends that i don't know
Am i cracking up, or just getting older?
Turns out when you're finally grown
And you know if this is my life
I'll sit around all day and i'll moan
Of another bottle of my next best favourite friend
Am i cracking up, or just getting older?
We're not cracking up, we're just getting older

I can't believe no one has said something for this song. It's a B-side to "the hindu times" and rightly so, this song is worthy of Heathen Chemistry. It's easy to play, but it's passionate. It's very real, it's Noel coming to terms with his age. Right now he's 38, but he's not young and hip. He's middle-aged and even though he's lazy, he's got a great voice. To me this song is the opposite of "stay young".
Oh, and the last lyrics go.
Well I'm not cracking up, I'm just getting older No I'm not cracking up, I'm just getting older There's no "you're" or "we're", and if you bought the single (as I did) you'd see the correct lyrics.
nice, mellow song...good b-side from noel.
