Face the Gun Lyrics
Lightning haze
Zig Zags in roads
Wake up with your black hearts
Fight the “animals”
This is the testimony
Of the young at war
Dwelling on the conflict
Thinking, maybe tomorrow’ll never come
As they face the gun
Their black gold eyes
Understated the power of politic
Wish we could rewind all the rhetoric
That they’ve claimed and sold
While the fools rule in praise
The globe has warmer days
I lift my fist to find the solace
And hope that Love will save us
As we face the gun
Ridge’s power is set
Under guises of false security
Understand
We’re taking on Mr. Orwell’s master plan
Take my hand
Hold on because the turbulence is ahead
And face the gun
Put away the fear
Put away the fear
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Zig Zags in roads
Wake up with your black hearts
Fight the “animals”
This is the testimony
Of the young at war
Dwelling on the conflict
Thinking, maybe tomorrow’ll never come
As they face the gun
Understated the power of politic
Wish we could rewind all the rhetoric
That they’ve claimed and sold
While the fools rule in praise
The globe has warmer days
I lift my fist to find the solace
And hope that Love will save us
As we face the gun
Under guises of false security
Understand
We’re taking on Mr. Orwell’s master plan
Take my hand
Hold on because the turbulence is ahead
And face the gun
Put away the fear

i cant wait until this new album comes out. hopefully ill be able to see him live.
Seriously man, FACE THE GUN is such an awesome song. But then again, everything Kenna does is awesome. I hope the new CD comes out soon. Heck, I hope he goes on tour soon so I can see him live.
Im so stoked for the new album, ive been waiting too long.
"Their black gold eyes"
-I think- is a reference to The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury, which includes a story Dark They Were, and Golden Eyed but I'm not sure.
"We’re taking on Mr. Orwell’s master plan"
A reference to Nineteen Eight Four? I think this song is about young people's outlook on what is happening to our world today and what we are told to believe vs. what we believe gathered from our own observations. The Nineteen Eighty Four reference would make sense, since some believe that the United States will one day turn into a totalitarian government.
Kenna wants us to not be afraid of the future that is to come, and instead of ignoring the problem, to stand up to it. Great song.
I love this song, it's the Heavy song off the album. Great lyrics, great music.
