this song is to me is about him wanting the relashinship to work and the other person saying that it can but he nos that it cant cause she lies to him about the relashinship, and it hurts him that it wont work really bad but hes givin up but hes telling her he wont forget her

This song is just full of so much emotion. I agree with everyone about it being about a broken relationship, but I don't think that the relationship ends. I agree with Garyg. How it ends with "and it's not going to change." I think he is so in love with this girl but he knows that their not meant to be and she is just killing him but he can't escape their relationship, and in a way he doesnt want to.

I just simply love this song. Silverstein is one of my favorite bands, their amazing guys and their talent is unbelieveable.

This song is one of my favourites in the whole wide world. I believe its basically describing a break up, where the vocalist is talking about how hes dealing with the situation, hence the confusion and controdiction in the lyrics, talking about not caring, and then saying the girl hes in love with can see how hurt he is. With most relationships each break up is different, but the standard rule is to look like your so much better off and you dont miss them every second of the day, you dont wonder what they are doing, you dont cry when you hear that certain song or feel like your having a heartattack when you know the other person is having a fling with someone else. The saddest thing about this track is that you dont even need to listen to the lyrics to feel his pain because the tone of his voice literally drips with empathy and heartache. The song starts off strong and gradually he mellows and strains to keep his barriers up, with the end of the song coming back to a narrative equilibrium and his walls back up. Hes clearly no where near over her, but he doesnt understand who shes become, and he misses the way she used to be. Hes crying out for her to come and save him, but its clear she isnt going to come. ♥

It might not have to be a relationship between a guy and a girl maybe a broken friendship between what use to be a really good friends and how everything is so fucked up it's not worth fixing but i also have to agree with everyone else that it might also be a fucked up relationship and all they do is fight and yell. Then the girl mess's around and just keeps sucking the soul outta the guy she's using and then the guy just wants to forget about it and move on. but yha watever the meaning I love this song with all my heart and it helped me through some tough times

the end of a releationship that ended with disloyalty and pain. she cheated on him and messed with his mind. he gave her all he had-heart body and soul and she took it- and then disregarded it when she committed her selfish acts.so hes tired of the games tired of the drama-so he finally says taht he is done-she was his true love and he will never forget her because she holds a place so deep in his heart but he will"sail" away-(sailing representing freedom) and seas representing far distance-to break away from the entire relationship- the good and the bad. he will pull himself to gether again-even after the mess she left him in-

um..there's a problem in the lyrics!!! It says "why am I trembling? throw it overboard when I’m ready to we will progress count me down make that sound break the silence"

it should be: "WHEN I'M trembling, THROWN overboard AND I'M READY TO RELIVE THE PAST. countING down make that sound break the silence"

"I’ll save it, I’ll forget her, I’ll breathe" and its actually: "AND I'LL SAY THAT I'LL FORGET HER, I'LL BREATHE."

I listen to this song when me and by ex broke up I thought of it as a song about him and this chick being in a relationship and she keeps hurting him and they keep getting back together but he is like not this time i am not goin to do it. well...i agree. I think its about a relationship gone real bad. The boy is EXTREMELY in love with the girl but she just keeps tearing him down and cheating on him and gay stuff like that. So the boy wants to forget her but he cant cuz he loves her sooo much..ya know? but this song is real real good and i love it!
