Metroid - Norfair Tenement Blues Lyrics

Arriving with confidence
After countless stretches of time
Heady with pleasant sensations
Sweet proximity

(Armor integrity percentage holding at 95)

No one ever made reference to
Or acted as if they knew of
Or winked at each other surreptitiously
About the creatures that rule this envious land

"Infestations can be dealt with"
I think to myself as I grit my teeth
Determined to take back this land
Where the lava glows and warms the worthy

(Armor integrity percentage has dropped to 61)

Jealousy, bitterness, loneliness and anger
All will fuel me now as the rest falls away
Save me, save me
Save me, save yourself

"One and two and through and through"
I chant to myself
As my missiles track in and I'm already reloading
And now I've taken hundreds of them
But I hear the slithering of thousands more
And pummeled with fear and awash with regret
I drop to one knee and lower my head
And armor integrity at 9 percent now

Rage and fear and doubt and avarice
Pain and hate and sweat and fury
Pettiness, loss, and insecurity
All will fuel me now as the rest falls away
Save me, save me
Save me, save yourself

I loooove this song. Obviously it's just about the video game Metroid Prime, but it has seriously good music. Featuring Nasa Travel Agency's vocalists.

Plainly being a game covers its about samus star of metroid goin on her mission only for it to not go as well as planned. As the song nears the end it shows how she starts to feel angry that she has to be the one who saves the galaxy and she ends up having to put up with evil and at the end dies in a attempt to save us.

Not flaming Its not "Obviously" about Metroid prime. its about some of the games before its such as Metroid and Super metroid where Norfair was a area in the game.Metroid prime didnt have norfair in it as it was on a diferent planet altogether. with an awfull amount of enemies.hence samus getting swarmed in the song.

I agree with SkullKidKai: if this song is "about" any game in particular, it would be about Super Metroid, in which Samus returns to Planet Zebes to find it apparently deserted... at first. Thus the verse about how nobody ever mentioned all the enemies who'd returned.

However, if I'm not mistaken, the tune the song is based on comes from the Norfair region of the original NES Metroid.
