Already Dead

this is about both of the couple just messing up the relashinship they both want it to work but they no it wont, so it was pretty much doomed from the start

i'm not exactly sure what i think of this song (which i love with my entire heart) but i do get the feeling that somebody gets hurt.

first off, it talkes about: "and all the times you smiled you said hello and thought i was ok i was planning my final struggle" which makes me think that the two people could have once been in a relationship that has been long dead, and the girl thinks everything is okay and theyre friends and junk. but at the same time the guy is still mad over it and is "planning my final struggle". murder maybe? or rape.

the next part that caught my attention was: "when you wake up ill be there when you see me you'll be on your back when you know your already dead. you left me too." ok, so he's gonna sneek up on her in the middle of the night. kinda stalker-ish if you ask me. but what i think happens is either rape or consentual sex, becuase of the "when you see me you'll be on your back" and sometimes 'on your back' is a term for sex. i also get from this that the girl probably ended the relationship from the "you left me too" line.

ok, next: "breaking through your basement window" ok, so he's deffenatly broken into her house. "and all the times you left" reassures my theory she left him (maybe multiple times)

and now we coem to: "you shook my hand and thought i was your friend i was planning a ending" once again, she thought everything was just fine but he didnt think so. it could be (from the second line) that he was still mad enough, maybe to even kill HER.

and the last thing that sticks out to me is: "try and stop the pain but theres never closure by your soul i sing like you could help" i don't know about you, but after somebody breaks up with me, its kinda a bad feeling. sometimes you feel hurt (ie: pain). and sometimes, no matter what you do, you still love that person (ie: never closure). but in the next part, it says "by your soul i sing", by your SOUL not by you. i think she's dead.

so to tie everything up, this is what i got:

there's a couple in a relationship where the girl breaks it off. and all this time she's thinking that they still have a frienship and that everything is ok when they guy is actually really torn up about it. so he plans to do something. (it could be one of thoies "if i cant have no nobody can" things). so he breaks into her house, rapes/has sexwith her, then kills her, only to find he doesn't feel any better from where he started from.

Lets look at this from a different perspective...forget the women...Alright lets say you met someone who was kinda iffy if you know what i mean. You talk to him and you make friends with him. You slowly find more and more about him. Then you know too much. You think he is your friend and he wont do anything to you. You call him over to your house and just hang out. That night your ready to go to sleep and next thing you know your already dead...mabye as a friend you left him hanging and just abondoned him with the knowledge of his past present and future doings.

This song was written after Shane read Alice Seabolds novel "The Lovely Bones". That novel is about a girl who is murdered at the age of 14 and watches her family cope with her death from her own version of heaven. It seems like he is the one doing the killing and imagining what his victim(the role of the little girl) will do once he/she is dead. Oh and I dont think its about a relationship at all. It seems like theres no reason for the killing. Maybe they were just aquaintances and he's just a sick fuck?

I think that he is talkin about killing this girl for leaveing him cause she hurt him so much. I think that the whole part that said when your on your back again isn't about rape just that he killed her and her goust or w/e looked at him. I might be wrong though

I get the hint that he wants something more in that relationship, and becuase "she" doesnt accept that, he wants to plan some sort of revege on her...
