People talk Lyrics
I'm afraid of men with clocks for eyes
with suits for skin
I'm afraid we've swallowed all our medicine
I'm afraid of God and all his angry clouds
I'm afraid the world will die without a sound
I was just trying to say something beautiful
something meaningful
but you can't live in the world just breathing
beautiful
no, you can't live in the world just being
meaningful
people talk so loud
people talk so loud
people talk so loud
they talk until no words come out they talk
until their brains fall out
with suits for skin
I'm afraid we've swallowed all our medicine
I'm afraid of God and all his angry clouds
I'm afraid the world will die without a sound
something meaningful
but you can't live in the world just breathing
beautiful
no, you can't live in the world just being
meaningful
people talk so loud
people talk so loud
until their brains fall out

This song is a bit of modern nihilism. The anxiety covers everything from religious concerns to atheistic concerns. Ultimately it confronts existentialism square in the face.
When they say "they talk until no words come out" I think Wintersleep is commenting on the modernist’s concern over the limitations of language. The impracticality of meaning in the modern world is concerning but we aren't offered any hope for reconciliation.
Bottem line, a great song by the most underapreciated Canadian Band.
Go Wintersleep
Go Pilate
