We Need a War Lyrics
we need a war
we need a war to show 'em
we need a war to show 'em that we can
we need a war to show 'em that we can do it whenever we say we need a war
if they mess with us
if we think they might
mess with us
if we say they might
mess with us
if we think we need a war
we need a war
(if we think we need a war)
a war to make us feel safe
a war to make 'em feel sorry
whoever they are
can we do it?
sure we can
we need a war
we need a war to show 'em
we need a war to show 'em that we can
we need a war to show 'em that we can do it whenever we say we need a war
if we think they might
if we say they might
if we think we need a war
(if we think we need a war)
a war to make 'em feel sorry
sure we can

I think it's pretty obvious. Iraq, anyone?
But it's also a comment on War itself, why people need to kill other people.
This song was written by Susan Sontag in satirical response to American aggression (mainly but not only Iraq).
Iraq, hands down. It could also be about war in general, but the line "a war to make us feel safe" -- many people think the Iraq war is protecting against another 9-11. Pretty much, Fischerspooner is commenting on the ridiculousness of the Iraq war and the motives behind it.
Anyone who has ever heard the Gorillaz---doesn't the beginning beat sound like "Kids with Guns"? o_o
Oh, my bad, I meant "Last Living Souls" -_-
It's either depressingly hysterical or hysterically depressing. Depends on my mood. Either way, good song.
