Dry County Girl Lyrics

A tall drink of water in a cotton dress
That preacher's daughter, she sure is blessed
As sunlight passes through the fabric so soft
You can imagine what goes through my thoughts
She says there'll be time for all of that
When my dress is white and your suit is black

[Chorus]
There's so many fish in the sea
And I know it's a great big world
But I couldn't help but fall in love so hard
For my dry county girl
For my dry county girl, yeah

It's widely known that I have my flaws
While she's the Joan of Arkansas
Her lips won't touch the demon wine
But her eyes are full of pure moonshine
And I get drunk just holding her hand
I get high thinking I could be her man

[Repeat Chorus]

For my dry county girl
Lord, I fell so hard
For my dry county girl
For my dry county girl, yeah
Yeah, talking about my

[Fade]

Damn this is a good song. Its just talkin about bein in love and in my opinion not needing to have a physical relationship so much because he is just so happy to be with her. Its refreshing to have that kind of an idea in music

@SouthernCowboy24 I agree 100%.

I think it refers to many things. For one like SouthernCowboy24 said that it's the emotional value that holds the highest standard and one we seem to be forgetting.

I also admire the girl he describes: strong, noble and I love the line "her lips don't touch the demon wine but her eyes are full of pure moonshine" cuz it's so hard to find a girl like that. A girl not corrupted like the girls growing up today with their cell phones are parties and etc. She's a pure girl who makes you just sigh in joy.

@lavaboy24 yes, yes and yes!
