Running, Returning Lyrics
Sooner, or later
Everyone will know
Within the shadows
In there light will grow
And love is on its way
It's more than I can see
Running, returning
On and on it goes
To a place
Where love begins to grow
And I am away
To where I've always been
Come walk with me in the morning light
Call the curious sun
And before I, inside heaven in our hands
And when the cold wind blows
We'll wake up on the other side
Where the sunlight sounds like moonlight in our ears
And even underground
They'll hear
Songs of our soul
Song without tears
Everyone will know
Within the shadows
In there light will grow
And love is on its way
It's more than I can see
On and on it goes
To a place
Where love begins to grow
And I am away
To where I've always been
Call the curious sun
And before I, inside heaven in our hands
And when the cold wind blows
We'll wake up on the other side
Where the sunlight sounds like moonlight in our ears
They'll hear
Songs of our soul
Song without tears

beautiful.
they always have the most beautiful lyrics. Amazing song, i love all the layers throughout the song.
mmm seriously. it's the kinda song i want to listen to on my headphones turned all the way up. there is not one part worth missing.
i am in love with this song
The working title of this song was (appropriately, if you've heard it) "Rainforest".
you have to have this song all the way up in your headphones. to me, this song is about someone who has had the opportunity to fall deeply in love with someone but they just couldn't let themselves go to get close enough with the person and do things right.
I think it's "And I am on my way"...
makes more sense.
Wow, what a wonderful song. He's talking about finally coming to the good place that's always inside.
i come to close orgasm at everytime at the very end of the song when he says "riiiIIIIIIIIIIsiiiiiinnnnnng ooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOO" [the best part not mentioned above] Their construcions are so unique to them. They use Major seven chords effectively here, with the 'climax' and tension on the M7. love it in every aspect. amazing live too.
Jesus, this song is powerful. To me it is about the realization of love, that force that is always growing, always rising from who knows what mysterious depths, bringing us, in the end, to where we should have been in the first place, to who we are meant to be. It's about love as a power that transcends even death--when we wake up on the other side--and lives on even when we are underground; in the words of Kahlil Gibran, "You shall be together when white wings of death scatter your days./Aye, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God."
