Alcohol Lyrics
I can make anybody pretty.
I can make you believe any lie.
I can make you pick a fight with somebody twice your size.
Well, I’ve been known to cause a few break-ups,
An' I’ve been known to cause a few births.
Well, I can make you new friends, or get you fired from work.
And since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg an' Bordeaux, France,
Been making the bars lots of big money,
An' helpin' white people dance.
I got you in trouble in High School,
But College, now that was a ball.
You had some of the best times you’ll never remember with me:
Alcohol; Alcohol.
I got blamed at your wedding reception,
For your best man’s embarrassing speech.
And also for those naked pictures of you at the beach.
I’ve influenced Kings and world leaders,
I helped Hemingway write like he did.
And I’ll bet you a drink or two, that I can make you put that lampshade on your head.
‘Cause since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg and Bordeaux, France,
I been making a fool out of folks just like you,
An' helping white people dance.
I am medicine and I am poison,
I can help you up or make you fall.
You had some of the best times you’ll never remember with me:
Alcohol.
Yeah, since the day I left Milwaukee,
Lynchburg an' Bordeaux, France,
Been making the bars lots of big money,
(Helpin' white people dance.)
Yeah, I got you in trouble in High School,
But College, now that was a ball.
You had some of the best times you’ll never remember with me:
Alcohol; Alcohol.
(Alcohol.)
(Alcohol.)
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na.

the funny thing is Brad doesnt even drink alcohol
i LOVE this song. the lyrics are funny yet its sung with a hint of i don't know, almost sorrow. its a funky mix that gives the song so much texture and curiosity.
THis song brilliantly tells the truth about alcohol that nobody ever really wants to face. We all love the substance, despite what it can create. Its got the good times but also the bad, it always just seems that whatever happens, it was worth it, haha, great song, definately should be the themesong of college
This is the greatest thing ever. I didnt even realize he wrote in as actual alcohol telling the story... haha. The best part about it is that Brad doesn't drink but he wanted to show the good and BAD parts of drinking.. and he does it perfectly ;D
You got to love the people who show up at Brad's concerts with lampshades on their heads too.
hahaha this song is hilarious. i heard this song a few times and then i really listened to iit. i busted out laughing haha. its alcohol talking!
The meaning: self explanitory! The feeling: Depends on who you are. Truth be told!
This was just a hilarious song and one of the first conutry songs I really started to listen to. The fact that its told in alcohol's perspective makes it that much greater. Just like the album, listening to this song over and over again truly is time well wasted.
