17 Years Lyrics

Hateful eyes, you're in diguise.
I see you there, all you do is stare.
How can you play the mess there that you made?
The singer is the same, but I refrain...

[Chorus]
Will you like this song after 17 years?
There's no feeling left inside and the band's reunified.
Will you like this song after 17 years?
Part of me has died, been taken for a ride.

Saw these guys, before their ties.
The drummer's hair was in the air.
Stories been told, the bass player's fat and old.
And I feel the same, I still complain

[Chorus]

Got there early, stood in line (at the Roxy)
Bought my T-Shirt ahead of time (at the Avalon)

[Chorus]

Cover art for 17 Years lyrics by Armchair Martian

It's about going to see a band years after their (and your) prime. All of your memories and feelings are tied to the moment you first saw them, so the later show can seem like a let down. The band is essentially telling the kids today how they are going to feel when they see them again (in 17 years...)
