Childhood Memories Lyrics
Jesus! The weather was so good today
And but I believe a change is on the way
And a little electricity won't hurt
And no a little electricity won't hurt
Especially when we're all out of gas
And coal and oil, and steel and cash
But a little electricity won't hurt
And no a little electricity won't hurt
And your politeness it could kill
And it's more than likely that it will
First it was getting better now it's getting worser
And then it's getting wetter, now the ice age is complete
So everybody go...
And God help us if the radiation leaks
And God help us if nobody knows for weeks
And but a little electricity won't hurt
And no a little electricity won't hurt
But your politeness it could kill
And it's more than likely that it will
First it was getting better and then it's getting worser
And it's getting wetter better call the hearse-a
And can we move a little faster, go a little further
Move a little faster
Go, and everybody go up
Everybody go down
And everybody go this way
Everybody go that way
Everybody go
And we go, and we go, and we go...
A little childhood memory...
And but I believe a change is on the way
And no a little electricity won't hurt
And coal and oil, and steel and cash
And no a little electricity won't hurt
And it's more than likely that it will
First it was getting better now it's getting worser
And then it's getting wetter, now the ice age is complete
So everybody go...
And God help us if nobody knows for weeks
And no a little electricity won't hurt
And it's more than likely that it will
First it was getting better and then it's getting worser
And it's getting wetter better call the hearse-a
Move a little faster
Go, and everybody go up
Everybody go down
And everybody go this way
Everybody go that way
Everybody go
And we go, and we go, and we go...

One of my favorite BSP songs. Actually, I have a lot of favorite BSP songs. Obviously about ecological disaster and the attempts to correct it. It reminds me of a quote I read once, "(Americans) think there's an engineering solution to everything." Iraq being a case in point: just fix their electricity grid and that should make everyone happy! The Bush administration is now looking favorably on some mad scientist types who think we can correct global warming by seeding clouds or by putting giant mirrors in space. Good luck with that. For some reason the song also reminds me of Nevill Schute's book "On the Beach." Maybe I'm reachimg with that one.
