Awesome song - the bass line is hypnotising.

My perception on this song is that it begins by describing the criminal as someone whos an 'animal'. Then the focus is switched by saying 'im not your animal', implying the song writer is under false suspition of being this 'criminal' character. In one line, its about being falsley accused of being a 'criminal', depicted in the first verse as the person with an animalistic nature.

I took the bit "you know i'm not your criminal shot rings out country shouts the mans a criminal" as the public jumping to conclusions about people, persecuting them without understanding them. Or something along those lines.
