Gyasi Went Home Lyrics
Where do you come from boy, could you come anywhere?
You come from country where water flows free to the sea
I heard the English said, you got the best of it
When Raleigh washed up and found solid gold in his hands
There was a woman who gave all her pearls,
The ocean rolling, rolled them from the new world
There was a hill coolie, and a transatlantic slave,
There came a day when they broke free of their chains,
Now in country tempers run hot like Caribbean sun,
Said Gyasi when he went home
You come from country where water flows free to the sea
When Raleigh washed up and found solid gold in his hands
The ocean rolling, rolled them from the new world
There came a day when they broke free of their chains,
Now in country tempers run hot like Caribbean sun,
Said Gyasi when he went home

is it on the warped tour cd
Yeah, this is on the Warped Tour 05' Cd, and i love it! I'm not really sure what it means though... anyone help me out?
i read that it was inspired by the bassist's visit to guyana - where his family is from.
uhh, the lyrics have quite a few mistakes in them. Just a heads up!
I do believe that "wickedwise" is correct.
i love bedouin soundclash. i saw them live on new years eve and they performed this song and the lead singer said it was about when eon, the bassist, went to or back to guyana :)
Good song. This isn't an AMAZING band, but their cd is awesome just to chill to, and the bass player is great.
i love this song, and the voice. but this is missing a lot of lyrics...
well the bassist went back to where he's from...which is Guyana (actually where im from as well)...its in south america...i think they shot the video there as well...so im assuming the song is talking about it and life there.
heres lyrics that seem more correct: Where do you come from man, you come from anywhere? You come from country where water flows free to the sea I heard the English said, you got the best of it When raleigh washed up and found gold all in his hands
There was a woman who gave all her pearls The ocean rolling, rolled them from the new world And in the morning, rebel, you come But you know, he’s only breaking the law
